A few ?'s on this brass.

I was wondering what the black stuff is and what is causing it on the necks of the brass after it is shot? Is it cause it is new brass??

I was also wondering how these primers look?

The black stuff around the necks is powder residue after firing. The shoulder seals off the pressure when expanding after being shot as well as the neck, but the neck has more elasticity to it and lets the powder residue past it. It's normal for firing. The primers look good. They are centered, don't look percied, and don't look like they have pushed out.

You need to have your bolt bushed if you want to get rid on the extruded primers.
They don't seem to have a pressure problem though..
