A&D vs Satorious

I had a Satorious before I had an A&D. I can't remember the model number of the Satorious but it was a happy day when I got rid of the POS. It wouldn't hold zero for squat and drifted all over the place. The A&D FX 120i I replaced it with has been solid from day one.

That 123 is a good solid scope. I had one for a few years and never had any trouble.

I have been running the Sartorious Entris for 5-6 years now and have went from the V2 to V3 auto trickler setups. I am very happy with the scale and the performance. The only con to this setup is size, the scale and enclosure is big. Also it goes to the third decimal place so if you have OCD it might drive you crazy.

I had considered the Satorious because of that thirds decimal place, but I just couldn't see where that was really going to make an difference. . . at least, not for me. I went with the A&D FX-120i find the resolution is plenty to help me get SD's in the mid to low single digits.

If the Sartorius is drifting zero it’s probably because it’s jammed up with powder kernels under the tray, not leveled and stable, or too exposed to air movement. It does have a tall door that sits wide open when trickling so maybe it’s a bit more susceptible to such air currents but I mostly suspect it’s the distraction of that extra digit after the decimal point.

My Sartorius runs with an Autotrickler V3 / Ingenuity trickler and if I could say anything negative it’s that it seems a little slow to register a kernel hitting the pan. But it’s still plenty fast for my needs and I can kernel-pick to my hearts content if I feel so inclined. I do think it’s overkill for my needs but that shouldn’t take away from it as a tool.

Just trying to figure if it’s worth upgrading to the Satorious. Have a chance to get one at a good price.

I struggle to imagine a need where the extra digit (which always rounds to the .002 gr btw) will make a difference when a powder kernel weighs between .02 and .05 grains.

What it might do very well is resolve small weights like primers if you weight sort primers. But again you’re not going to separate into groups of .005 grain increments.

If you dont have the A&D..get the Sartorius.
I’d buy the Satorious at the good price point to evaluate its suitability for your needs. If not satisfied, you can sell it to recover your investment then apply the funds towards an A&D/other reloading accessories…

who has the best price on the A&D? Do i want a 120 or the 123? I am thinking I want the 123 but do not know enough about them to know the difference. I thought the 123 has a higher total weight capacity and maybe that would help me keep from over loading it?

i believe that he is trying to determine that.. from the way he wrote his first post.. do you have any experience with either scale and can enlighten the OP with your knowledge?
Screenshot_2024_0813_155920.jpgThere are quite a number of ranges of balances from both A&D and Sartorius. Without knowing which ones the OP refers to it is difficult to give an informed opinion.
