While waiting for arrival of a Nightforce scope for testing, I needed a way to attach Picatinny-type rings to Davidson style (11mm dovetail) bases. John Mangus told me that BKL made exactly what I needed. After an e-mail to them, I promply received the riser bases for use in my test. Thank you BKL for this great product. James Mock

Why didn't you just use Kelbly or similar rings to attach directly to the Davidson style dovetail base?

Nate, I have some 30mm Kelbly rings...presently mounted on a Marsh rifle. The BAT shown is used for 600 yard competition (6mm Dasher) and short range BR (6PPC). I did not want to remove the Davidson Bases which are glued and screwed to the action. I can easily remove the BKL riser bases and attach to the full length rail on the Marsh if I want to use the Nightforce on that rifle. I hope this clears up my intentions for this ingeneous mounting system. James PS-I shoot Benchrest style free recoil. Cheek weld is not in our vocabulary.
