A better way to cut 338 LM brass to .510 whisper

Gents
I have a .510 whisper variation, and I need a better and / or quicker way to cut the throat of the 338 Lap mag brass.
The rough procedure I use today is
1: cut the brass with a pipe cutter
2: trim to length
3: Cut neck outside with forster outside neck turner.
( size slightly in die)

The reason I am not satisfied is that
1: My Forster pilot is slightly small for the brass to start with, this gives room to unaccuracy due to play,
and I need to make a relatively big cut all the way down the throat.
2: This causes a somewhat uneven cut on the neck
3: it is very time consuming.
Any ideas for a better setup ?

Find you a local machine shop with a laser tube cutter or a 5 axis laser--they can do it quickly and accurate --shold not be to $$

Thats not exactly what I had in mind.
I would like to do this in my basement reloading room, not hire professionals.

sorry
this may be a little better

Well that thing would really cut down on the time when it comes to cutting the cases short.
How about the outside neckturning ?

Try a 500 Linebaugh Pistol die set-- only size about .75" then bump it with the bell die

Not quite sure the brass will go in the size die-- but if it will you should be golden

Call Forester and ask them to make you a larger pilot. Send brass if you have to, to get the correct diameter. If they wont do the job, someone with a lathe can certainly make a larger pilot for you! Greg

Hi, I just finished a LARGE neck turning tool W/large pilot's for .400 - .600+necks.
Will adapt to do cut-off also. Will post pic. later

Sal-

Howdy !

For doin' my brass-cut-offs while wildcatting, I use a small electric " cut-off " saw I $$$ @ Harbor Freight for $25.00

You follow-up w/ a clean-up cut-to-length w/ a case trimmer, and proceed as needed.

With regards,

Gents.
I came down to this after some time:
First i cut it with a pipe cutter, then trimmed it to lenght, then I do the rest in the lathe.
