9mm AR ?

I have a Colt 6951 but I can’t help you on your choice but have shot both weight bullets out of mine but they were factory loads. I used Accurate #7 when I loaded 9mm. You will be surprised at the recoil ( I was ) of this weapon. It is more than a 5.56 but it is a lot of fun and very accurate. You will enjoy it I can assure you. Use the search feature on here and there are a few threads on loading the AR 9mm. Enjoy your weapon.

The mass of the blow back operated bolt is the recoil impulse you feel. I run my Colt 9MM NATO Carbine suppressed with 147-150s and it runs like a sewing machine.
Add a binary trigger and you are off to the races!
As a PCC in its 16” bbl, loading for subsonic is a bit trickier, so I use faster propellants such as TiteGroup, and CFE Pistol at lower level charges. Runs very clean and minimal to nonexistent over gassing.

I tried a blowback AR in 45acp once as a pistol with a brace. I ended up despising the overall weight weight and recoil impulse of the heavy bolt. It is the only gun I was happy to get rid of.

Take a look at Tim the AR Guy Products for some interesting direct impingement pistol caliber products and barrels. Wolfdog who posts here from time to time did one in 22 TCM.

I go thru a heck of a lot of Everglades 124gr jhp. In all my striker handguns and my 7.5 sbr. Damm fine bullet. Those combined with Sport Pistol is magic, unfortunately Alliant powders are hard to find these days.

Originally I had worked up a load using N320 but SP was a cost friendly alternative, but with Alliants who knows when suspension will end I will go back to N320.

I've tried numerous setups to tame the db system some and eventually ended up using a 9mm hydraulic buffer in combo with a Tubb .308 flatwire spring. Perceived tecoil is extremely soft and now mimics that of my buddies Sig mpx.

Ive built multiple AR9's. Mine are all sbrs but I run n340 with 165gr Xtremes subsonic. Stupid quiet and runs like a Swiss watch. So much fun.

I have a 9mm AR and have had spotty accuracy with the factory loads. The 147s did produce the best groups so far. I think in my case my gun needs some more bullets down the barrel before it will do its best.
