95gr TMK, Sierra, anyone try them yet?

Anyone played with the 95gr TMK in 6mm yet. Just put an order in through powder valley. In addition I added two boxes of the TMK to give them a try. Just wondering if anyone else has messed with them. I am currently using the 95gr SMK for a Mid Range load on my 6mm SLR. The old SMK is shooting real tight groups at 300yds for me.

I'm loading them in my nephew's 243 savage. I don't know if it was just his particular barrel or if they were just hard to tune. They gave consistent 1" groups no matter what powder and primers I tried. Finally got my hands on some R17 to try and they really seemed to settle in. Half moa easily out to 600. I ended up with them about 10 thousandths from the lands where they shot the best from a Savage with a 22" axis heavy barrel.

I'd like to hear some more comments from people regarding this bullet if possible. I am in the process of having a 6BR AI built and am strongly considering running 95gr projectiles through it. The BC on the Sierra is appealing but I am yet to read any real reports on how this bullet performs.

Last week I shot some 95 Sierra Tipped MK's bunch through a .243, 8 twist with 4000MR (try it!) and a 6mm AI 8 twist with H4831. Both shot just fine. One hole 3 shot groups at 100 and nice 2 X 2 1/2 inch groups at 300 with both. It was kind of windy with a 10-15 mph wind coming in at 11 and 1 o'clock. The 95's were decidedly better than the 87 grain VMax bullets at 300.

I am a practical shooter and for me the common ordinary short necked slopey shouldered .243 Win is just fine but the 11 percent bigger 6mm AI matched it shot by shot. The 95 Berger VLD's were slightly better. No messing with seating depth for the Sierra's - I stopped seating depth when the bullets just cleared the rifling.

I would guess that the tipped 95's have G7 BC's close to the regular 95 gr. Sierra MK's but the tipped bullets might have less drag or lower form factors making a tiny improvement in BC's.

I intend to use the Sierra tipped bullets on varmints instead of the 95 VLD's.
