95gr SMK & RE15

Okay it appears that RE15 is supposedly a good powder to use in the 6BR. I have been trying it in my 10 twist with 95gr SMK's at 100yards to check velocity and see what kind of accuracy I am getting. Accuracy seems really good at 31grs which is giving me around 3050 fps which is where I was hoping to be around. This is a 26" barrel built on a Rem 700.

Problem is man is it dirty. You guys finding that?

I get good SD with it but it is like mud pie when I clean the barrel after 15 rounds down the pipe.

My lot is from 03. I do not have much left but wonder if it is worth buying more if it is as dirty.

I am wondering about H4895 but not sure where to start.

I was just trying the same load but wasn't getting any filth. RE-19 was dirty as all heck.

If it is dirty, push it harder!,so long as you have no pressure issues...) I was running almost a full grain more to get 3080 in my 28"

I burn up 31.5 grains of RL-15 in my 28 inch Pac-Nor and it burns very clean.
Topping out on the pressure signs but works very well in mine.....

my best with 95 VLD is aruond 3090 fps...,notice the trend here!!)...these are loads that are proven and I have NO mud pie in my bbl....IMHO ..most shooters start too low and even have stability problems and think that there is something wrong with their bullets or twist or sumthin,dirty bore/powder/etc.) when the only thing wrong is "they arent pushing the bullet fast enuff...low pressure...poor accuracy...dirty bore......
I try and start at the top...not the bottom...shoot one near max and find out rite now!!! not after hundreds of rounds of testing and development!!!,,and after you got the bbl. half wore out.)).....Roger
