95 vmax in 6.5x47

Anyone using the 95 vmax? I'm going to try it out in my 6.5x47 lapua. I have an 8 twist barrel though so i am concerned about over spinning these 95s. Will this be an issue or should i be okay to shoot them accurately?

If anyone is using them in a 6.5L what is your load? As there is no load data available for this combo. I will obviously start below whatever load(s) is posted and work up to see what my rifle will handle but just looking for a starting point.

I shoot them out of 1 in 8- 6.5 Grendel 29grains of Benchmark half MOA or less. Two foxes and one bobcat so far this month. Jon

can't imagine there was much left of them critters. i also shoot them with benckmark. Pretty much like a bomb goes off in the animal when it hits

I used benchmark with the out of production 85 gr varmint in my 6.5x47l. 8.5 twist and they were 3500 fps into one little hole in a 3 shot group less than .18 ..

It seems that the consensus is benchmark and seems to give great results, I will get some to try out. What loads are you guys using? There isn't really any data for these bullets in a 6.5x47 L

37.5 to 38.5grs should be able to find a accurate load somewhere there. barrel doesn't seem to heat up much also
Ok thanks I will start at 37.5 and work up until I hit something good

I'm curious to try H4895 as i believe it will give a little more velocity than the benchmark. What do you guys think? Or should I just go with benchmark?

37.5 gr benchmark has provided groups in the .2s-.3s while seated at 20 thou off. i would prefer to see more bullet in the case neck, what OAL are you guys using?

The ojive design of the 95 grain vmax has not been finkie for me in the Grendel in fact I do not move the seating steam at all any more when swapping back and forth between the 95 vmax and 123 amax. I would just seat them to the length you like and I would bet they shot with the benchmark load you have worked up. Jon

Ok I will see how they shoot when I leave my die set up for my 130 vlds. That should give me enough bullet in the mouth to feel a little more comfortable. I guess if all else I can keep seating them at 20 thou off but there is very very minimal bullet/neck contact. They still have enough tension to pass a "push against the bench" test and not change length so it would probably be okay.
