95 Gr Sierra MK in 1-10 barrel

Anyone used 95 gr Sireea MK in a 1-10 twist barrel? I have a 6x47 L and ordered a box of these but on the box it says 9 twist or faster. It doesn't mention it in any literature I could find or on the Sierra website, thats what I ordered them.

Thanks

I ran the initial experimental lot in a true 10 twist,Tikka 243 at ~3050fps)

Test groups at 200yds were phenomenal! Best 3-shot groups, from a bipod and bean-bag) were under .75"

I also put a few shots on paper at 1000,even though I had to hold in the trees due to lack of scope elev, not a 1000yd gun...)

Holes in target paper at 1000yds were as straight-on as my BR targets, and tracked true to predicted elevation...all that points to sufficient stability.

Hi JB

Just wondering if you had to sort the bullets first or just loaded them and let fly. I have heard mixed reports about the quality control of the 95 grainers, but am really looking forward to shooting some myself.

Kind regards

I tried some in a 1-10 twist Pac-Nor 6BR. They shot by far the worst of anything I've ever put through it. Around 1.25" at 100. That was just with the 1st load I tried. The 90gr Bergers shot GREAT so I didn't even mess with the S-95's again.

I'd say sort them for sure.
They shoot fine out of my 243 10 twist but not a cartridge that gets about 2800fps but, that one is also a button rifled barrel that may not be a true 10 twist.

Yea, they needed sorted for bearing surface...not sure how the production ones are faring.

I think my 10-shot group at 1K,8.5twist 6BR) was about 9" with 8 shots at about 4"

When sorting for bearing surface what tools are used and what measurement do you sort them for?

I use this setup: http://www.6mmbr.com/catalog/item/1433308/977259.htm

I'd rather measure baring surface...

YMMV,
JB
