95 Berg vLd in 1 in 10 243,

Has anyone shot the 95 Berger Vld heads in a Blaser 1 in 10 twist 243 24inch barrel, and if so did they stabelize fully? what were groups like in comparison to lapua scenars 90 grains at 300 and 600y, I tried the 105 scenars but they did not stableize in my 1 in 10 twist 243, many thanks paul t Ireland.

I've shot the Berger 95 in my Win 243 at 600 and they need more twist mine is a 1-10 and they need a 1-9 Twist to stabilize.

james what vel were you running at also what was your barrel length, did you try any Lapua 90 scenars ifso how did you get on with them, paul T.

I was pushing them around 3100 or so don't remember exactly and the barrel length is 26"

If you need excact vel I'll dig it up for you.

james did you try any of the lapua 90 scenars, they realy fly well with vit n160 & n165, great 6ooy bullet.

With a 10 twist 243AI A&B on a Savage 12BVSS-S, 95VLDs shot 5 into .62”, sd= 7.61, doing 3180fps with 46.5g of H4831sc. 47.5g brought the velocity up to 3230, sd=5.65, .64”. That’s as slow a load as I’ve tested with them. Well, I did have one flyer that threw a .50” 4 shot group into a 1.24” 5 shot group. But other than that the groups were from .41’-.85” Expect them to be stable out at 500 meters. I’ve gone through a full box of them testing 4831s & 4350s and have had no trouble at 100yds. Going to blow some brass out tomorrow with bulk 70g TNTs & 2230c and will try them out to 500 meters with fresh 95VLDs later when the weather is good and the range & I are free.
