9.3x62 powder for reloading

I just acquired a new rifle in the 9.3x62 chambering and like most people I don’t have the powder I’d like to use but have plenty of others such as varget a lot of h-380. & imr 4166.

I will be primarily shooting the 286gr & 250gr Accubonds in Norma brass. Based on these bullets can I used my h-380 or imr 4166 as I have a huge lot of these powders. Ideally I would like to use BigGame & reloder 15 but everyone is sold out on those. Thanks

I built a bunch of these years ago when the 35 Whelen was popular. Then again when Sarco imported a large supply of 9.3x62 and 9.3x57 rifles.

Your Nosler 250 gr. AccuBond will be excellent with the H-380 powder at the upper range of 2,500 fps. This from a 24" barrel. I didn't test the 4166 and I don't use VarGet.

I used the Nosler 286 gr. Partition for elk a couple of times and found that the H-380 would yield about 2,400 fps from the same barrel length.

I also found that VVN-540 performed better in both bullet weights and burned cleaner.

Enjoy the process! :)
