87g V max loads, 6XC, 6 Creed, 6-6.5x47 lapua

Yeah, I believe I would like to see some good stuff myself on this topic.

Thanks in advance.

Oh man yes, I shot the barrels out of two, sold the dies and reamer years ago, BAD mistake!!!
thanks!

I began by using H4350 starting loads (minus 3 grains) for .243 Winchester. Barrel length is 27.5" so I went for the slower burn rate of 4350 vs 4064, 380 etc. For reasons I don't understand my gun shot well with each powder charge weight. Started showing pressure signs past 42 grains.

What velocities/accuracy were you getting (barrel length).

Barrel length is 27.5" zero taper bull. Wish I could quote velocities but I lost the chronograph printout years ago. IIRC the velocity was generally 50-100 FPS faster than similar .243 loads but the extra barrel length bought me "free" speed.

All groups were between .25 and .30 MOA. The gun might be capable of better but that's the limit of my ability to read wind. Also, I shot the groups off a bipod which doesn't help. It's a prairie dog gun, not a benchrest gun, and I wanted to simulate field conditions when testing loads.

In the 6/250 AI that I had with a 28" unturned blank, I shot the 70g Nosler at 3800, bug holes. I used a 10" drop tube and got as much win 760 in the case as possible with a cci 250. This got me to 600 on the couple of times I actually shot it that far.

The 6/250 AI is one heck of a case, PGT made the reamer. If you go this route, choose your brass brand and have the reamer ground to fit because Lapua brass is much larger in the base than Winchester and Remington.
