"
Day 1 of the 85th Black Hawk Open Regional is done. The mild temps and winds made for some very good scores today.
FClass: Four National Records will be submitted from today's activity. Randy Herrmann shot 400-40x in match 51 and 52 to start off the day. He extended those records after the match by continuing to shoot more x's. So this means he broke his own 50 yard record, and likely owns the new 50 yard and 50 meter records in Open and Mil Vet.
Sam Pagliari shot a 1599-143x to break Jim Murphy's 1587-142x record.
Randy's 1597-143 breaks the Mil Vet Record.
Sam was the winner for today, followed by Randy and then John McBrayer 1 point back from Randy with 136x.
John Whidden is the winner of the Harry Tevis Trophy for the Metallic sights winner with a 1598-142x. Howard Pitts in 5 x's behind John. Evan Owen is 8'x behind Howard for 3rd. The top five all shot 1598 today. Thomas McManus was the high expert with 1587-89x.
The weather tomorrow might by soggy to start so the mirage will be a factor once the suns pops out for a warmer day."
The weather the next day turned out to be better than was was expected.
For the second day
F-Class

Sam took the overall for the two day agg, Sam took day one and Randy took day two by an X
Also John Whidden swept it all on the sling side,

Kudos to John for shooting an excellent match.
