8208

Looking at the case, its real close to the 30TC, parent of the Creedmore. Nosler book gives plenty of data, and as above, powders for the 308 etc. rule.

Having said that, I have played with 8208 in 308, but deferred to Varget ( adi 2208, in my part of the world)

If you are intending to play with light projectiles, 8208 would probably work OK. I did have a good hunting load using 125g Hornady soft points doing ridiculous speeds using Benchmark. 8208 is a gnats slower. Rumoured to be Australian 223 Military recipe. But like all rumours...

Great powder in 6.5 Grendel though, and probably worth working up in the 6mm ARC.

Here in the north east the guys who shoot hunter class all seem to use 8208 in their 30x47's.
The problem is most load by dropping their charge and I load by weighing mine.
When I asked I got the " just fill up to bottom of neck" for an answer, but I like to be a little more precise with my loads. Just makes me feel a little safer.

It’s an excellent powder for 308 with lighter bullets. I use it in my Palma rifles behind a Sierra 155gr (2156). Accuracy, velocity, and ease of loading make it a great powder. I don’t see why the burn rate wouldnt get you where you Where you wanted to be. I’ve seen several comments about guys using it in 6.5x47, 30 Cal Grendel variants, and other mid-size cartridges. Hodgdon shows it in their load data for 6.5x47, so with a little load woke up you should be fine. I would take load data from their 95gr listing and work up. That’s me, so do your own research before you start.
