8208 LOT LC A068

Hey guys, need a little information on an 8 lb. jug of 8208 lot # LC A068. This is the only information on the jug, no labels or tags. I received it from a retired PPC shooter who was one of the top shooters in the game. He told me it was one of the best powders he used back then. I currently shoot a Dasher and it seems very hot but very low SD's. Would appreciate any info. dedeadeye

Count your blessings. It is probably the older stuff which was really good.

if it is truely (19)68 powder, it would be/could be from the cherry picking time of surplus 5.56 tracer powder.

there was a military "surplus or pull down" 8208 that i think was used in .223 tracers. i fortunately got 12# and the stuff burns a bit hotter/faster than imr 8208XBR. in my 6 BR it produces the same muzzel velocity and accuracy as imr 8208XBR but at 1.0 gr less with 64 gr berger column bullets.
