8208 in the 6BR and primer choice

I ran Quickload on it and on paper at least it does not look like I really gain much velocity by going past 27.5. The farthest I will be shooting this will be 850 Yards and my scope has plenty of come up. I plan on shooting the primer test Friday at 300 yards, next week I will shoot some at 600 and 850 next week if it works out. If not I will start adding a bit more powder and see what the chrono data looks like and go from there.

Oh on the Stevens action, it just a Savage 10 action with a aftermarket trigger. Ten years ago I picked it up for 75 bucks and since then it's had three barrels, two stocks, and three different scopes on and off it since I rescued it. Nothing fancy but it's fun to have someone ask what it is and I show them the Stevens stamping. It started life as as .243 truck gun and since has been a .204, .260 Rem, and now 6BR. Been used for varmints, deer and now targets

just a quick up date. CCI 450's did the trick. Found the low node at 2570 FPS, ES of 19 and a SD of 7. This was shot at 300 yards this morning with a temp of 34F and a 5 -7 mph wind coming from 9 oclock. Direct sun gave some wicked mirage. I may look for a higher node once the weather warms up but for right now 2570 FPS will do just fine to practice with
