82 G trigger help

I purchased an 82 G and the trigger needs help. I would like to get it close to 4 ozs. or less if possible. Any Smiths or aftermarket products available for this.
Thanks.

You're not going to get the factory trigger that low unless you have someone change the location of where the sear pivots. Even then I'm not sure it'll work that low safely and consistently

Your best bet is the XTSP two-stage trigger linked above

I have a XTSP on one of my Kimber 82G rifles. The two stage pull is nice but I adjusted the first stage out To make it a single stage pull. It’s easy to get a 2-4 oz single stage pull.
My 4 other Kimbers have the factory triggers. With a spring change and sear adjustment you can get a safe 1-1.5 pound pull.
The 82G’s are nice rifles but they are not super accurate bench rest rifles. I don’t think you will give up anything with a 1-2 pound trigger pull.

I've cleaned it and it's still like pulling across sandpaper. According to my gauge it's 3# 11 ozs. Those XTSPs aren't cheap I see, but I guess it is what it is.

I have had 3 82G’s, still have one. None of mine were ever that heavy. With a Lyman gauge all were under 14 oz. after a little polishing and spring change. One I got down to 8ozs. and it was safe to shoot. I would say your is dragging somewhere.

With a spring change and proper adjustment it’s no problem getting a 1 pound pull. If you’re feeling trigger movement or drag it’s not properly adjusted. Very simple procedure.
The triggers were set at 4 pounds at the factory because that’s what the army specified. Don’t give up read the manual, it has detailed instructions.

The manual didn't come with the rifle. I bought it used.
I paid $550 for it with no sights.
Bluing is good, stock only has a minor mark on the buttstock.

The manual is available online. Just Google Kimber 84 Government instruction manual.
