80's in a 9 twist? Wow okOnly info i have to offer is from a 26" Mcgowen 22-250 9 twist shooting 80Gr Bergers with H414 @ 3200FPS. Worked very well on deer out to 500 yards.
I tried 75 and 80gr AMAX but quickly went back to the bergers.
Both Amax were 18"+ groups at 600 yards where the 80gr bergers would stay under 3" and even out to 1200 yards it shot 13-14" groups first try not even trying to read the wind.
The 77gr Sierra TMK is the only other round that it shot very well with at 600 yards but above 3200FPS it went off track.
I sure couldn't get them to stabilize in my 1-9. Actually had to drop done to a 70 to get mine to shoot.80's in a 9 twist? Wow ok
I never measured the actual twist. It was just sold as a 9 twist and i just went with it. Got to my first 600 Yard Fclass match with it and the older guys told me that a 9 twist wouldn't stabilize a 80gr Berger but it did, i never questioned it.80's in a 9 twist? Wow ok
I think the 22-250 AI would be a great choice. I use the 80 gr. A-max in a 8 twist krieger 22x47 Lapua and have shot 1 deer and 1 coyote and many groundhogs from 50 yards to 568 yards with good results, I like the fast twist 22 cal. cartridges very much. When I use the A-max bullets up I am going to try the Sierra 77 gr. TMK.Anyone have success with either in a 22-250AI?
Do either work on varmints?
Speeds and load data welcome.
Putting one together as parts come in, thinking a 7.5 krieger will work.
My Krieger is a # 4 contour. What contours for the barrel ya guyz runin?
An 8 will work with either of them.Anyone have success with either in a 22-250AI?

Look forward to hearing how that one turns out.Not exactly what you are building...but I had a .22-250 Brux 1-8 twist that I burned up shooting 80gr Amax and 80gr VLD. Both worked well for deer and coyotes.
About to put together a .22 Creedmoor on a Broughton 1-7 twist.
A 9 will work but 80s will be the absolute heaviest at the speeds any 22-250 will run. The 8 twist will stabilize them better throughout the speed range of a 22-250. My Ackley shoots 80 ELDs at 3500 but I'm running a 30" barrel. I'm thinking my accuracy will better in the 3350-3400 range. So far I've only been fireforming brass but have seen some impressive velocity from the AI version. The 22-243 varieties are certain to prove good with a 9 twist barrel even with the 90s. Also the newest 22 Creedmoor.80's in a 9 twist? Wow ok
