8 twist for 6.5x47L

I have an 8 twist barrel sitting here and I'm leaning to chambering it in 6.5x47L. Am I right in my thinking or should I be leaning to something with a little bigger case size? Mostly I will be shooting at 100 yds but once in awhile out to 600 or so.

The 6.5 x47 Lapua is more than enough out to 600 yards. Build it, and post pictures.
