7SAUM

Looking for information on the 7saum
I have a 7RUM and can not get it to shoot at all, instead of selling it I was thinking of re- barrelling it to a 7saum
anyone have any advice?
or maybe another caliber suggestion?

Thanks.
Sam.

The 7 saum is capable of great accuracy and works best in a long action. I have a reamer with .250"fb, perfect for the new 195 and 180 vld.

I run the 162 gr A-Max in both of mine in front of H4831 and never felt the need to search for another in the long range hunting game. JMHO

Hey y'all thanks again.
Next question?
Barrel maker?
Twist rate for the 140-160?
I plan on making this a box stand deer rifle so I'm looking at a 26" or 28"
Sendero or Remington varmint contour.
Suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank.

9 twist

Bartlein
Brux
Broughton
Krieger

All of them are quality barrels..........

I run Benchmark barrels exclusively for F-open. They are right there just as good as any of the others. Benchmark also does my chambering work. They are that good.

I'm not certain of any company's deliver timelines, but a barrel already in stock at a vendor is better than waiting for one to be made.

I would also stick with the standard 9 twist - not because you need it for the normal 140-160 grain bullets, but just in case you decide to try a 180 or a non-traditional bullet. Too much twist is a fairy tale in my opinion - I run 10 twist for 30 cal bullets that require 12 and shoot high master scores in F/TR.

Hey y'all thanks for the extra information
When I pull the trigger on this project
It will be a 9twist.
Still doing some reading on this caliber.
I'm sure I will have more questions.
