7prcw hunting rig info

Looking to build a hunting rifle in 7prcw. Looking for data on shorter barrel velocity experience. I’ll be about 23” on barrel length. Should I expect 25fps loss per inch from the 32” barrel data? Bout 200fps loss. Either 162 or 175dx. Probably use the ready to go ADG brass, h4350 or N555. Also will a 6.5prc with correct bushings and no other mods work as a sizing die? I figure I could used a 7saum seating die? Honestly can believe Redding or Rcbs does not have dies out yet?

I have two 7-6.5 PRCW built, one is on a 23” #2 contour, 1-8.5 twist Benchmark and with 57.6 grs N555/210m primers/ once fired ADG brass/ 168gr VLDH I’m getting 2880fps

The other one is a 26” 1-8 twist Benchmark CF barrel, with 57.7grs N555/210m/175gr BEH and full length resized Lapua (6.5 PRC) brass at 2900 fps

I’m on my fourth firing of the Lapua brass and no pressure issues no clickers, no issues whatsoever

Extremely low ES (4 fps) with the Lapua brass
The ADG is giving (12 fps)

I’m loving this cartridge, I haven’t touched another rifle/cartridge since joining the 7-6.5 prcw club !

If you don't mind, what die's are you using for your sizing process.
Im happy to hear that its working well for you. I think its a combination of the right die's and Reamer that makes this cartridge work well. ( You also hear the folks having clikkers and other issues. )
It works well for me also in F-Class... although there was a learning curve.

Thanks for the info guys! Yea pretty much still waiting for a go to reamer/die set combo to go with. Definitely not wanting clickers or weird pressure issues like I’ve had in the past. 2800-2850 is where I’d like to be, should be perfect

I get 2750 to 2805 with 175 and 180s out of my 284 in hunting rifle with 25-inch barrel. I would think the PRCW would at least match that.

I’m using the Whidden bushing dies, and a mandrel afterwards with the ADG brass

With the 6.5 PRC Lapua brass when new I just use the Cortina body die/mandrel (.282”)

I am currently in the process of building a 7 PRCW for hunting. I reached out to Alex and ordered everything he recommended. I bought a Batt HR action (my choice), #4 Brux barrel, McMillian CF stock, Cortina sizing die (Alex recommended Cortina or SAC but SAC was out at the time I tried to order), 100 pieces of ADG brass and LE Wilson seater die using a K&M arbor press. Alex is doing the metal work and also reaming the seater die.

Does anyone use 215m primers with the 7prcw? It seems like the 210m is the more common primer used. Can anyone shed more light on why?

I dont think you need a true Magnum primer for this cartridge as the 210M and CCI 200s work real well for most folks. ..I use Wolf Large rifle primers, but have used many others as well.
