7prcw finicky?

After Bisley some guys told me that. Is it really?
They did not explain to me their reasoning, but does it boil down to the width of the accuracy node? Susceptibility to weather change (it would rather refer to powder used, not cartridge itself)?

Ask 10 shooters and you're likely to get ten different opinions.

While there, we were talking to a pair of ( top 5 finishing) shooters. One loved the SAUM/ hated the PRCW and the other vice versa. It often comes down to the indian, not the arrow.

Talking to others, a theme became apparent. Wringing the neck of the PRCW and especially the FCP didn't lead to good results. They were usually more stable and accurate a definite step below their velocity potential.

What velocity do you mean?

Couple data points for the discussion.

When you talk with the top x% of FOpen, perspective is key. The difference between "average" vs "competitive" is often something that could be misapplied. These shooters are looking to wring every last X/V and 10 ring consistency they can out of thier System.

If you're a "Team of One", you're at a disadvantage to a shooter that's has a Club or Team Knowledge Bank to tap into.

The right group of guys as an example could likely collaborate and make N165/7STW/168gr bullets competitive.

At the end of the day, all Competitors have limited amounts of time/energy/money to put towards thier shooting System.

So the solutions you see each Shooter arrive at are going to be uniquely and personal to that specific Competitor.

That said, the 2 most accurate 7mm barrels I've ever had were chambered in 7-6.5 PRC, one with N555, the other with R16.

The most accurate barrels I currently have are chambered 300 WSM and 22 Dasher.
