I built this about 6 months ago and I am not getting to shoot it or enjoy it the way I had hoped.
My job has me going out of state every other week, and combined with my limited time at home and trying to keep my wife happy and spend time with my kid. This leaves me just enough time to go to the 100yd indoor range about once or twice a month, if I am lucky. Combine that with having two disabled-retired parents that I need to help with, and an always time-needy muscle car project with my Dad and son, and there just isn’t time to go play with long range for me.
I had hopes of going to a 1000yd range to stretch this build out, but that seems very unlikely at this point.
It only has ~60 rounds through it. There is one tiny mark on the bolt knob and the edge of the ARCA spigot, otherwise, pretty much flawless. It feeds and functions well with no issues. The brass that was twice fired had some mild 162gr loads running a soft charge of RL22 for barrel break-in without pushing it hard. It shows sub MOA every group with all loads fired, if I do my part. I know it will tighten up nicely once handloads are well developed with the heavier bullets for the 8tw barrel.
What is included with the rifle:
1. Pierce Engineering Titanium Long action with twist-fluted bolt.
2. Pierce 20 MOA pinned rail with 8-32 fasteners.
3. Patriot Valley Arms 26” Osprey 8TW Barrel, in M24 pattern, threaded 5/8 and chambered by Josh at PVA with my Pierce action in hand. Checks beautifully and fired brass comes out perfect. Includes the nice metal plaque showing the specs for the action when the next barrel is required.
4. Patriot Valley Arms Shockwave muzzle brake
5. KRG Bravo stock with some upgrades (was a discount for Black Friday, but I don’t see any flaws anywhere)
6. KRG ARCA spigot
7. Accurate Mag 3.75
8. Timney Calvin Elite Trigger 520 CE-A
9. Redding Full length resizing die, neck sizer and Seater die.
10. Lapua Scenar L 180gr bullets ~880 bullets (~100 were tipped)
11. New Hornady match Ammo -180gr ELD match - 60 rds
12. Hornady brass
20 pieces of 1x’s fired
19 pieces of 2x’s fired
Not offended by offers or trades.
One thing I am definitely looking for is a Ruger no.1 in .475 Linebaugh to shoot .480 Ruger through, because I already load for that in my Super RedHawk.
Pics of the rifle below, and I will get some pics of the other included items in the next day or two.
Rifle, accessories, and Bipod are sold
Burris scope and Burris rings will be listed in another ad separately.
