Shooting 162gr A-Max Hodgens H1000 produced highest velocities and accuracy . 4 gunshops in Reno NV sell reloading supplies 1 of which has what ever you want but at exorbitant prices. $44.00 bucks for a LB,the other 3 don't have it . I'm not paying it, so what is closest to H1000 ? Marginal accuracy with Retumbo . Re#25 isn't stable in extreme temps ,or at least so they say.

Retumbo(hodgdon) accurate magpro imr7828 ramshot magnum I would think retumbo would be just about perfect.
The new reloader powders are supposed to be less sensitive to temp but I have t had a chance to test any yet so that's just what has been marketed. RL22 would be my choice for that bullet. It does have noticeable temp instability but it is very predictable and repeatable, which is easily compensated for.
I imagine the reason the one shop has whatever you want is because most people are like you and are not willing to get hosed over a few pounds of powder.

H4831 would work if you want to stay temp stable. Re22, Re25, Norma Mrp, or VVN560 would work also.
Thought I heard VVN560 is a hot burning powder ? Retumbo I started at 68grs up to 70.5 and with velocities of 3025-125 marginal accuracy.( 26" Brux bbl) I blamed that on field conditions, less then I deal shooting bench a slight cross wind NV desert breeze . I had a partial can of H1000 that I bet was 5+ years old so I loaded up 70grs pushing a 162gr A-Max at 3210 FPS ( Average for 5 shots) and a tight 1/2 MOA group ! I want more of that stuff but not at $44 bucks a lb and have plenty of Re#25.
Hey what luck ! Scheels just yesterday received a boat load of powders I bought two cans of H1000 for $26 bucks each !
