7mm08 & Reloder 17

Has anyone got any experience with RE17 and velocities using 140 grain projectiles in 7mm08.

Doing some reading on it and some appear to have had exceptional results but others suggest only with heavy projectiles.

The data will be used for a upcoming hunting rifle. In the past 2209 has produced good results but in some brands of brass and bullet combinations I have not been able to get enough into the case.

Thanks

I've been playing with RL17 in my 7-08 about all summer . here is a link that has a lot of my info . I think it's a very good choice for the 140's . Jim

Thanks Jim
I have read someof your info on other threads and it has me convinced to try it in the 7-08.

You results have turned the somewhat modest 7-08 into a case thatnot very far behind the 270WSM with 140 grainers.

Byrnsey, I have had very good results with a 46Gr. load behind a 140 Sierra SPBT, being shot out of a 21" Lilja barreled Rem. 700. Load shoots consistently 1/2". 2800fps @ 70" but the avg temp when I hunt is 34' when chronoed then, velocity was 2760fps, load works great on Pa. Whitetails. Hope this helps.
