7mm tcu in long barrel?

hi lads
I have got all my part together to build a 7mm tcu and was wondering what velocity's poeple are gettting with longer barrel as iam would like to make 2500fpswith 100gr plus blullets to use it one deer in the Uk

thanks lads

Never tried it but I have often wondered about a 6tcu in a bolt gun (as well as 7TCU.) Those might make great Cast bullet benchrest calibres. I'm quite interested in your project.

"know that this is an old post but I thought I would just add my 2 cents worth...

I have built a suprising number of Remington Model 7 rifles in the 7mm T/CU chambering. In fact, I deer hunted exclusively with one for three years and really enjoyed it. Completely decked out, most of these rifles tipped the scale at around 7 pounds. Accuracy was always better than expected, with most developed loads from these 18"-20" barrels averaging well under an inch at 100 yards with most loads hovering around an inch at the 200 yard mark with very mild recoil...

For deer, I shot Sierra's 100 gr. hollow point and Hornady's 120 gr. spire point. For hogs though, I shot SPEER's 160 gr. Hot-Cor with more than exceptable results...."

in the TC 14" listed loads are 32gr BLc for 2300fps, in a 20in" with bolt action you should be able to get 2500 easily. i have read in blogs of others getting 2500 as well

The blog i quoted above is not of my shooting but a post from another shooting page.

I have a TC contender barrel 21" in 7mm TCU and I get 2545 fps with a 120 gr nos. bt using h322 powder. I have killed 3 or 4 deer with that load all one shot kills DRT. It is a good low recoiling round.
Drags

hi drags
thanks for the info , may i ask how long is your rounds oal,
iam doing two barrels one is 18'' one remy 700 and the other is a 12 on a ar15 ( with no gas as semi are not uk illegal)

the ar 15 is going to be 7mm tcu , but think maybe i mite do a 7mm br for the remy?

p17, the C.O.A. is 2.637 with the nos. balistic tip, the reason for this C.O.A. was so the barrel closed easily on my contender. I have no idea how far I am from the lands as I wanted a trouble free hunting load.
