7mm stw

Kochie welcome to the forum it will help if you let some of us know what you intend to use this rifle for there are several good 7mm offerings out there but which one depends a lot on what its purpose will be

It's a bit hard on barrels, but I like mine. It's used for hunting only,Elk,Mulies,Pronghorn).Swift A-frame,TBBC are the best bullets in my rig. When the barrel gets shot out this time I'm going to chamber it in 7mm-375 Ruger a bit easier on the barrels.

I have had several since it first came out. Love it, stops a white tail like nothing I ever seen. May be hard on barrels if your shooting a lot of rounds but for a hunting gun that gets 20 to 40 rounds a year thru it, It will last longer than I will.
I have 3 pages of loading data so if you get one give me a yell I'll hook ya up.

My hunting buddy has had a few different 7mm STW's over the years. One was just a re-chambered 7mm Rem. Mag in a 700 Remington. They all shot well and killed deer like a bolt of lightening. He killed two deer with one shot once with a 140 Nosler partition. I have another friend that has a 7 STW that he got from sombody that had the gun built on a trued Rem. 700 action. I don't know what kind of barrel or what twist it is but it will not shoot anything but 120 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips accurately. He picks his shots and only takes broad side heart lung shots on deer and it kills them dead before they hit the ground. The bullet explodes on the hair before it hits the hide. It blows holes the size of a soft ball on entering he has never had an exit. They both have had best accuracy with IMR 7828 powder.
