7mm STW loads

Just bought some dies for my 7mmstw and 150 gr. seirra's.
What's a good powder and starting point.

Go to the Hodgdon web site and you will find all the load information you can handle. H1000, IMR 7828, Retumbo, RL25 are all good powders for the 7STW. Many people that I know that use the 7STW use 77.7 grs IMR 7828 with 150 gr bullets for around 3300 fps. This just happens to be the Hunting Load given in the Sierra manual.

Retumbo is made to order for the STW.

Mine runs 3425 with 150's in a 28" Lilja.

There's no magic, start low and work your way up.

I only shoot 140's in mine. I was told 82gr of H1000 is max. I also say work up slow. I use 81.5gr for a Balistic tip and 82gr for the Barns X.

Haven't tried the Sierras,but the 150 TBBC's with 79.3 grs. of H1000 Fed 215 Match works in my Win SG 7mm STW.My Hart barreled Rem likes the TBBC's with 86.5 grs. H-870 Fed 215 Match. The Swift A Frame is also a VG choice.
