7mm SAUM brass availability

A few weeks ago I pulled the trigger on getting a new rifle built by Pierce Engineering, and went with 7mm saum. However, in shopping around for brass I have discovered it is just about impossible to find. Did I just make a mistake on caliber based on availability of components? Or is it just the time of year compounded by the frantic/panic buying currently going on?

Just get some 300 SAUM Nosler or Norma and neck it down. I had Forster make me a FL die with a .310 neck for the first sizing, then run it through a FL bushing die to .308 for final sizing.

Just post a WTB ad and maybe, just maybe someone will sell some. 7 saum brass is hard to find right now, and I believe Remington will be making some soon. I was told they produce 7 saum brass once or twice a year. Great cartridge, as I upgraded from 7mm-08 to 7 saum.

Or you can use some 300 saum brass in the mean time. It's just a little shorter.

I was gonna build a 7mm SAUM once. I gave up on it after figuring out that SAUM cases were hard to find.

Sizing a 300 SAUM to 7mm Saum should be just fine with one run through your FL sizer die. No need for two step sizing when only dropping the neck around .024" A good idea to anneal after re-forming any cases though

Great advice folks. I just ordered some 300 SAUM from Brunos. Guess I'll be necking down some cases while waiting on the rifle.

Thanks!

ETA: And Nosler 300 SAUM is a lot cheaper than 7mm
