7mm RUM reamer

I know that the 7mm RUM is a relatively inefficient cartridge, a barrel burner and finicky to load but I want to play with one so here's my problem.

The reamer I have (JGS) cuts a chamber with an enomous amount of freebore. Even with the longest bullets available (aka Berger 180 grs.) the bullets can't be seated to touch the lands. When seated 0.250" in the case (which I consider minimal), the bullet jump is over 0.200". Are there quality reamers availble for this caliber without this amount of freebore? Any suggestions? Quality is important as I want to use this rig for long range hunting and shooting.

Eddy: I also spec out and buy my own chambering reamers (Pacific), for various chamberings, so here's a thought: Send the reamer back to JGS (a great company, I have some of their reamers), and ask them to re-cut it to a shorter throat dimension. It would help if you included a "dummy round", with the bullet of your choice seated in a case to the depth you want. Two other dimensions I would be concerned about would be the chamber neck dia., a tight, no-turn neck being my preference, and chamber over-all-length, so I do not end up with a large "gap" in front of the case mouth. Works for me.

I order all reamers that I know will be used in volume with many different bullets cut with a .020" throat. I also have throating reamers for every caliber from 20-35 caliber. Piloted 1.5 degree leade PT&G reamers are $.69.00. This gives the smith and customer the option of cutting a custom throat for any cartridge. Many manufactures and gunsmiths in Europe use three reamers to cut chambers. One reamer for the chamber case body, one for the neck, and another for the throat.

All reamers made today are made so thay can be sharpened/reground. PT&G, Dave Manson, JGS, and Clymer all offer these services. As far as I know all will regrind each others reamer as well.
