7MM rem SAUM with Vitavuori powder

Hallo

is there anybody reloading the 7MM SAUM with Vithavuori powder?
i`m looking for loads with sierra nr1975 or berger 180 grains

I`m just starting with the 7mm SAUM, my local dealer here in holland gets the sierra`s in two weeks
bergers ar great but very expensive here, thy are about 65 euro for 100 180 gr bullets

Hello,
I have 7RSAUM in build, I currently shoot 7mm/270wsm with N165 and 180 bergers, I am going to use the same powder/bullet combo with the RSAUM. I think there is approx 6 grains less capacity so I would start around the 60gr mark, work up carefully to maybe max around 62gr. I use 65grains with the 7/270 which gets me around 3050-3080 with a 30" Bartlein. I do not have quickload in my office so I suggest trying it first before re-loading. Both my rifles are Bat actioned with bartlein barrels.
As ever this is only a suggestion and is what I will be trying, it may be prudent to start lower and watch for any pressure.

With regards

Gary Costello (United Kingdom)

Thanks for the suggestion Gary
When nobody comes up with a load that thy use in will start with the 60 grain op N165
what brass are you going to use, the Remington or necking the Norma Nosle 300 SAUM

regards Peter
(holland ;D

Hi Peter,

I have both Rem and Norma, the Rem brass actually look pretty good once it has been sorted and is MUCH cheaper than the Norma, I will be testing both, I will let you know my results, the rifle should be ready in a few weeks.

Are you going to use yours for F Class? I know several of your countrymen that travel to Bisley for our League shoots, 800,900,1000yrds

With regards
Gary

Hi Gary

Good to hear from you that the Rem looks good, I got a good offer for Rem
So I will start with the Rem and prim them with Russian mag primers

Ones everything work out the way I hope, I will use the 7mm fore the F-class
Now I use a 308 win and go for the first time to bisley in may( Phoenix meeting)
The 308 shoots very well and I don’t want to go for the first time with a HME rifle

I most serenely now the Dutch guys you talking about
Form the shooting range here in Holland and the Dutch F-class competition
So you will be seeing more Dutchman ad bisley, making It harder for the British to win ;)

Regards Peter

Hi Peter,

It will be good to see you at Bisley, by the way the HME is very easy, if you need help we can assist, the more competition the better !

I hope the weather in the UK improves shortly, as it is seriously affecting my shooting.

P.s the REM brass has very thick necks, if you have a no turn chamber I would still consider tidying them up.

regards

Gary

Hi Gary

that is a good thing, the tick necks of the Rem brass
I can neck tune them properly, and hone the Forrest die, to a -0.002 bullet diameter
Like with the Redding bussing dies

I’m looking forwards to the Phoenix meeting, and hoop it’s the first of more shooting ad Bisley
I will be there fore 3 day’s, hope to see you there and we can discus the findings we then have with
The 7mm SAUM

Regards
Peter
