7mm rem mag help

Has anyone ever tried to load 7mm rem mag with h4350 and large rifle primers and not magnum primers. What kind of accuracy did you get?

Seekins precision in 7mm rem mag 26” barrel with ec tuner break 1:8 twist
Nosler brass
Cci br2 primers
Hodgdon H4350
Hornady 180gr Eld-m G1 Bc. 796

This is what I have available to me.

Worth the try or waste of my components? Accuracy being the main goal. 0.5 moa or better achievable?? North Dakota weather it’s gonna get cold

Sold my 7mm Rem mag many years ago when I quit hunting. 154 RN Hornady bullet with cannot remember 4831 or 4350. Shot many groups under .500". I still probably have a 10 shot group under .500".

I am not aware of a belated cartridge using SRP.
I’m assuming he means large rifle primers and used the word ‘ standard’
I usually use ‘SRP’ to mean small rifle primers.
I loaded a 7 mm mag for years and always used
Large Rifle Magnum primers.
I guessing at what was really meant.

I got the same impression.

Cci br2 is large rifle primers. Standard large rifle primers meaning not magnum primers. Standard is not in the srp abbreviation but I fixed it to avoid any further confusion

Didn't know they made SRP belted magnum brass? I mostly loaded lighter bullets in the 120-130 gr range in mine. Tried to make it "almost" like my 25-06.
I’m not trying to load lower BC bullets. I had to wait a few months to get a barrel with a 1:8 twist that can stabilize the longer higher BC bullets. In my experience most factory rem mags come with a 1:9 twist or even 1:10

I use regular federal GM match with 7828. Never had an issue
Thanks for your reply. I understand you said no issues but I’m wondering if you ever used them in 0 to 10 below temperatures? I read somewhere that the regular large rifle primers would work fine but that you needed the magnums in colder weather.

But if you Check the label on both h4350 and h1000 they used regular large rifle primers.

I shot three deer (625, 345, 331 yards respectively) I missed the 745 yard one, over the shoulder. All were at 10 degrees except the 331 yard one. I hunted Central NY late in the deer season. It was cold, colder and damn cold.

I confess I ran a LOT of 7828 and the only issue I ever had was in 85 degree weahter shooting a groundhog. But that wasnt the primer fault!

I never had issues with ignition in cold weather.

Thank you

I apologize I meant to type BR 2. I understand where the confusion comes from. I’ll fix that typo. Thank you pointing it out
Abe, did you ever try H4350? Looking at the same rifle. I was hoping to find a 300prc, but have had no luck.
