7mm Rem Mag - H1000 and Ramshot Magnum

I have a new TC Venture 7mm Mag but I only have Hornady 154 gr SST bullets available . Also I have Ramshot Magnum and H1000 available for loading that I am not using in other guns. First has anybody tried either combination and any thoughts . I have Federal and Rem mag primers.

I also have H4831 and SW4350 but I am using these for other calibers and as we all know replenishing them right now is tough. If I had plenty I would start with H4831 no question . Just interested in anybody's experience.

Thanks

154g SST
Start off with the bullet .003 off the lands, max
63g of AA4350, Rem 9 1/2(adjust load as necessary)
Rem case

Most people make the mistake of not getting close to the lands with this bullet.

I am shooting this load in Rem 700 factory.

Everything depends upon how the chamber was designed. I'm not sure what T/C uses for their dimensions so most of what I refer to is based on my SAAMI reamer.

There was a lot of attention directed at the 7mm Rem Mag a few years ago so there was a ton of testing done especially with the Bergers and the SSTs at the time. Most loads started 0.015 - 0.020" off the lands where the best consistency and repeatability was found. While everyone believed that 4831 and similar burn rates would be the best, it was Ramshot Magnum which proved to be the best since it filled the case yet burned slightly cooler. Accuracy was very consistent.

The surprise came from 4955 Enduron which usually sat in the middle of testing results. It was a tad slower than the similar hotter powders but turned out to be very consistent in the accuracy department.

Your testing will tell the tale since your chamber is specific to your rifle. Find the lands, pick an offset and start low and work up slowly to find your ideal loads.

Enjoy the process!:)
