7mm Rem Mag 139 LRX Test

Tried the factory version - Vortx - and it shot well so I ordered a couple boxes. Loaded them up and headed to the range this morning.

Tikka T3 Ember/Roughtech in stainless. After digging a bit I decided to try H4831sc. Using Peterson Brass and CCI 250. Loads were 67.8, 68.2, 68.6. Barnes lists max at 69.1 grains. Loaded 0.050" from lands.

Scope -adding because I see so much push back against Leupold on the internet - VX6 HD 3-18x50. Between 1st group and second group I made 1/2" adjust down and scoped tracked exactly as it should have. Previous adjustments tracked as they should as well when adjusting for factory loads a few eeks ago - No tracking issues.

Think I found my load with second group! must have added a few kernels extra on that 3rd shot... Hope this is helpful to anyone thinking about the 139 LRX.

Edit to ADD: The Vor-TX factory load measured 0.140" from the lands. Getting to 0.050" extended the bullet to the limit of the magazine.

I think the tracking issue ive heard was when you fully dial up many moa for long range say 800+ and then come back down. Sometimes its not repeatable they say or wears out the turret i guess if done repeatably. I have no personal experience with them. They seem like great hunting scopes being higher magnification and lower weight. Mark series is more for constant dialing
