7MM Mashburn Short Mag

Any body ever heard of it? I started a thread in the Gunsmith section ( wasnt sure the best place to post ) if think you can help out with any info I hope you will look up the thread and add your contribution.Thanks Tony R

No it is 7mm for sure I saw reference to the 300 Mashburn short magnum as well as a 7MM versions I think this is what I have but want to confirm by comparing dimensions I cant find any dimensions on the 7MM Mash Short Mag

The case length for the short version is 2.530. You should make a casting of the chamber.

I will do another chamber cast today if I have time and confirm case length,I could not locate the one I did years ago. I made the dummy by fireforming with inert filler from 7mm rem mag case. It is possible that my OA case length is short the other dimensions I listed should be very close

Ackleys volume 1 lists the 7mm mashburn magnum short. loading data but no dimensions. Midway has the dies.

Most of the internet images for 7mm Mashburn show a cartridge length of 2.635". The shoulder is some .050-.060" forward from the 7mm Rem Mag with a slightly sharper angle.

don't know if this helps you ; there are a few guys on the nosler forum that are shooting the 7mm mashburn super mag . they are using 300 win mag brass to start with . it looks to be about a 7mm300win . there are a few threads going on now .

The 7 mm mashburn and the 7mashburn super mag are both longer than the chambering I have
I think he did a 7mm mashburn short mag but I can't find any data on it
