7mm Bullets

Are Berger and Nosler going to make 7mm bullets again? Please don't tell me all the 7mm bullets are being used for the military, since no military use 7mm projectiles. Finally got some powder, now no bullets.

Just as an aside to explain what happens at a plant that does DFAR business... when you participate with the GOV and they issue you a DX0 order, it is very close to declaring Eminent Domain on the whole facility.

Failure to cooperate means enforcement authorities will arrive on the doorstep in the morning.... Any resources that can be directed toward filling the DX0 are expected to be applied, so even if they don't order 7mm bullets, the expectation is that all available labor, materials, and machines will be used which means those 7mm get postponed.

In reality, you will get a little wiggle room to work on other business, but if they feel you are not making their order a priority, things get difficult for you.

Various government agencies now are arming personal(this often requires "testing") resulting in ammo not normally used being purchased. Secret service was testing 7mm RM. Much more pull downs are available as a result.

Premium projectiles required for extended ranges ? If normal ranges you don't need anything special.

A while back with a new to me 7mm08 some cheap Hornady 120gr spire points were first grabbed off the shelf to see what sort of accuracy this cheap rifle was capable of.
A tight 3 shot cloverleaf at 100 was easily achievable and plenty good enough for a freezer filler for which it had the oppurtunity to prove itself a few weeks later when a friend asked how long it might take to get to the farm he worked on as there was a group of deer in a paddock.
Long story short 2 fell to this rifle at ranges both further than I'd taken deer in a lifetime of hunting.
One was at 250yd and projectile terminal performance in these large red deer hinds was excellent and proved to me cheap hunting projectiles from the major projectile manufacturers perform admirably, well it's not like they are learners in their profession.
