7mm build

I'm going to build a new hunting rifle in 7mm . I've only owned one in all of my years of shooting. My shots will range from 200yards to around 800 yards I've made these shots before for with other rifles. Just wanting something different. I have a Remington 700 Ultra Mag action I'll be using on this build. The bullet will be 180 or 195 Berger here is some I've been tossing up for awhile. 7mm LRM/ 28nosler/7rum/ 7mm stw. What do you guys think .

I would not build a RUM, until there is a reliable steady stream of affordable brass available.

Am also going to build a 7mm hunting rifle. But, am going to go with either the 280AI (my first choice) or the 7mm SAUM and will be shooting 162 - 175gr bullets.

May just go with a Nosler rifle in 280AI once I can get my hands on one to see what I think.

Another vote for the 28 Nosler. Check with Ryan Pierce on here, username rpierce. He's built a ton of them and they shoot!

Hard to beat a 38 Nosler but NEVER underestimate the 280 AI.

I appreciate everyone's input I think I'm going to go with the 28 Nosler it seems to be the obvious choice. Plus I was already leaning towards the 28 nosler. I'm wanting to push a 180 Berger around 3200 FPS are the 195 Berger 3000 FPS. What is the go to powder for the 28 Nosler

Reloader 33 seems to be the powder. Excellent speed and accuracy.

RL33 for 180 or 195's.

Plus 1 for the 280 ai. Love mine. 1x9 twist. Drills the 168 Bergers. Abundant brass. I don't understand the hype about the nosler line in general. Rebuild off a 404 case. Remington played that game in 2000.

With the speed you want, you won't do it with a 280 or 280 Ackley. In a hunting rifle I like the extra speed. Speed helps make up for range errors and less wind drift. It also helps with killing potential. Matt

I've tried all the powders listed on Nosler's website for the 28. Reloder 33 gave the best speed and accuracy with the Berger 168 VLDH.
