Up for sale: SS barrel chambered in 7mm-300 Wby Mag. The barrel was on a long action Rem 700.
Back story: I originally built this rifle to shoot targets at distances beyond 1,000. During development the rifle shot most of the bullets i tried very well. The best of these was the 195 EOL and the 180 VLDH. Long story short, what i eventually found was that it was VERY difficult to spot sighter impact at 1,500 in sod ground, particularly shooting without a spotter. Just not enough 'splash' in grass covered ground. I shot it less and less as a result and so here we are.
Tech specs: SS, 28 3/4" (without the break), 1.255" dia, 0.871" @ muzzle, Harrell's break, 1:7.5 or 1:8 twist (I don't recall which one), barrel was done by Douglas Barrels. I have lots of load data and testing for the following: 180 ELDM, 195 Berger EOL, 197 Sierra, 183 Sierra, 180 Berger VLDH. The barrel has 360 documented rounds and shoots the 180gr Berger very well. I have over $700 in the barrel/break.
