7mm 175 Sierra matchkings

Anyone have any experience with them for long range prone? Been using 180 Berger VLDs in a standard 280 Remington. Only target I ever cleaned was with the Sierra 168s. (Probably not the 180s fault) Have any velocity data where they shot well?

Yes, I use the 175 sierras a lot in my 284. They are easier to tune, maybe more consistant than the Bergers, as in, if the throat erodes a bit, they arent as critical of bullet jump/jam. The node for your 280 if it has a 30" barrel will be at around 2800-2820 fps.
I do occaisionaly use the 168 Bergers in my 7mm and have always been able to get them to shoot better than 180s, except for one barrel in 8" twist.

Jerry,
Do you have the ES and SD reversed in the post? Numbers would make more sense. I have been shooting the 180s in a 280 at 2,833 fps with good results (H4831sc). I was going to try some Rel 17 to try and get them up to 2,900 fps. I have seen several posts indicating that the 180s like 2,800 to 2,850. Your test seems to say they like 2,830 fps. I am just looking for less wind drift, but don't want to lose the accuracy. Is seeking 2,900 worthwhile? Any thoughts on Rel 17 in the 280?
