What does Sierra recommend? Will a 1:9.5 stabilize it?

The box says 8.5 twist but they shoot good in my 9t Broughton 7saum. It will depend on what 7mm you shoot and the speed.

I have done really well with my "9"twist that actually measures closer to 9.5 than it does to 9, I would say it is worth a try.

I may try them. My gun doesn't like the VLD's very much.
