7mm 175 & 180 SMK info.

Just wondering if anyone has switched from the 175's to the 180's and what kind of results you got. I'm thinking the 175 would be less depth sensitive based on the profile, but I have zero experience with them.

I was also wondering if you guys think sierra will continue to produce the 175. Seems kinda like overkill to have two MK's 5grs from each other. Thanks.

Berger makes the 175 XLD, 180 VLD, 180 BT-LR and 180 Hybrid. They all seem to sell.

The Sierra 180 has a better BC than the 175 but, as you already noticed, is a secant ogive and probably more seating depth sensitive. That said, lots of folks (me included) run VLDs in various calibers with excellent results. Give the 180 Sierras a try. I have a box of 100 that I have not yet tested since I have been pretty busy with our winter shooting season and the Hybrids are hammering. Just not much current motivation to switch.

Thanks for the reply gator. I've been using the 180 Hybrids with great results, but shooting 75-100 rounds twice a month gets a little heavy on the wallet. I figure I'd give the 180 SMK's a try and hopefully have some good results and save some $$$ in the process.
