7mm-08/H1000

I am looking for info using a 139 gr.hornaday bullet in my 7mm-08 with h1000 powder, and oal if possible. Thanks Don D

Don,
Why would you want to use H-1000 it is way too slow for that application. H4350 would be much more appropriate.

James

I've shot H1000 in my .260 with an a-max 140 out to 600 yards that shoots verywell. This .260 is a mauser I built for hunting.I've loaded corelokts with varget, they also shoot well at 200 yards. All in all I just wanted to try it and seen if it works.I can try h4350 if you've got something for that James. Thanks Don D

You can find Hodgdon data here

I can't remember if I have loaded 139gr Hornady bullets for my wifes 7-08 or not, if I find that I have I'll post my loads.

FYI I use H-1000 in my 7mm SAUM light gun and I use a drop tube and a slow pour to get enough into it for 162 A-maxes, but it shoots well.:)

Thanks James,I'll go to Hodgdon.com and checkout the data.In my 7rsaum I took your advice and loaded 180 jlk's with h1000 at 65 grains 25thou of the lands,at 1000 yds it shot real well.I think I'll stick with it for awhile. Thanks again.Don D

I worked up this load several years ago for a Wy. antelope hunt. The gun is a Rem. Mtn. rifle with a very slender barrel. PLEASE BE ADVISED, THIS LOAD IS A LITTLE WARM. Primers were fine, just a slight extractor mark on a couple of cases.

45.2 gr IMR4064, Hornady 139gr SST, CCI 250 primers. Avg. speed 2978, ES 26.6 SD 10.0

Shot was taken at 286 yards. I was aiming just behind the shoulder but the wind was stronger then I thought. Bullet entered dead center low on the shoulder, took out the top 2/3 of the heart and exited off side shoulder. The goat never took a step, fell on his nose, and kicked a rear leg once.
