Kian -

Howdy !

WHile a 7BR would certainly work, and there are many great 7mm bullets; have you considered a larger diam " BR "; such as .30 BR ?

THeres been a lot of new work and efforts put into more and more .30R rifles these past few years.
It would certainly fill the bill as far as larger bullet diam helping cut the scoring rings when a smaller diam bullet migh not.

I went even larger, shooting a .357AutoMag in 22" barrel.
It too, was great for use out to 300; even on live varmint
( groundhog ). This was few years ago.

With regards,
357Mag

Used 6 and 7 BR in past, the 7 was not in a full blown custom, nor did I have proper custom light weight bullets. Local guy at range today shoots ALOT, and said a 30BR shooter cleaned house recently, all the way to 415 yds, seems like a 118gr w/17" ROT bbl.

I am not a 30 fan, but this 30 apparently does very well.

Still think the 6 is the best......for what I do.

Kian, I have a 7br silhouette rifle it has a pac-nor heavy sporter barrel (.750 at muzzle) rem. 700 action. It is not a full blown target rifle but is very accurate for the type of rifle it is, I have shot 130 smk, 168smk, 150smk, and 162 gr hornady A-max bullets using varget powder with 6br cases necked up to 7mm and all loads shot very well. I have shot groups a little under one and a half inches at 300 yds using all of the mentioned bullets. If you go with a full blown target rifle in 7br I think you would have avery accurate rig.

Have you seen this thread? It may answer a few questions for you. I am still debating on one myself.
