700 Remington DM question

I have a Remington 700 clone (stiller) in 300 win mag with the Remington factory detachable magazine. Holland fiberglass stock. It is a hunting rifle. I cant close the bolt on an empty chamber with 3 in the magazine although the mag will hold 3. Can only close the bolt on 2.

I'm going to look at the follower to see if I can remove any of it. Any other suggestions on how to make what I have work?
I'm not opposed to going to a BDL type bottom metal if I have to, but don't want to use the larger detachable mags. Just want 3 rounds....

Remington specs on a magnum is 2+1

Thanks. Will any of the BDL style bottom metals give you 3+1? (2+1 has always been enough, just asking...)

No all of them (adl,bdl,dm) are 2+1 in the magnums
