700 rem bolt stop

I want to replace the origional bolt stop on my 700 Rem . I saw a rifle this year at PERRY, that had this type bolt stop , it was on the right side of the rear receiver ring .
On The right side , just in front of the bolt handle , was drilled and taped , for a bolt stop , having a spring loaded plunger that stoped the rear movement of the bolt.
One only had to pull it out a short ways to release the bolt.

Anyone know of this system , or who might steer me to some one who knows of it , or has a drawing of one .?

Offline JohnHenry's post is probably your best lead. I have one of these installed on my 6BR (except that it's installed on the left side so it doesn't interfere with operating the bolt during live fire) and it works very well.

You might look in brownells for what you need.Dont bother ,they have nothing anyways.I think hart rifles has bolt stops as well.

I've done a few of them, but never seen one on the right side next to the bolt...
Sinclair usually has them in stock......

Have looked at both HARTS WEB SITE . Cannot find a bolt stop on either site. Could you check
Them out and steer me to the one selling , a bolt stop.

Appreciate your post DAVE

Jonbearman, I have looked at both HARTS web sites can not find a bolt stop.

Can you check , these web sites and tell me which one sells a bolt stop.

Many thanks, DAVE

R.W. Hart & son has them, but not listed in their catalog. Give them a call and ask for Gary. He can help you out.

Preacher, is this the only style , on the market for sale. Do you have one of your own?

This one I saw , sticks out from the RECEIVER A BIT TO MUCH, was my thought when I first

Saw it. You stated you put it one the left side , can you elaborate a bit more for the reasons.

I would like to purchase one , that does not stick out so far from the action. I can install it myself.

Would appreciate all your thoughts , Dave

Sinclair has them in stock now for $27.99..
They do stick out a ways, and I do have one on one of my XP-100's and have been trying to post a photo for you, but my PB seems to be misplacing them..
PM me a email and I'll send a photo to your email..
I always install them on the right side so they will not interfere with the bolt handle...
You can also just screw a allen head screw into the rear hole where the receiver sight would be, and that will prevent the bolt from coming out...

Don't follow that design template; install it on the left side, i.e. opposite the bolt knob side.

Dave, Google is very helpful. Dave,
I didn't renew my FFL a few years ago. I no longer work for the public. Pete Peiper of precisionbarrellwork.com has done a few.
Does the WV in your name indicate a love of the Mountaineers?
