I have had several PMs on the 700 ML smokeless conversions I mentioned in an earlier post.
Here is the info.
Go to Dougs Message Boards and tons of info on 700, Encore and HandiRifle conversions.
Mine was done by Luke Horak at Arrowhead Sporting goods (just google it) or http://smokelessmz.com/index.html
He put a #7 SS Pacnor at 25" with Muscle Brake on it in 45 caliber. It shoots his 45 caliber or Parker bullets (300 or 310 gr) at 2600 FPS. BC is .41 and normally they turn out .5 MOA to 500. Modified Savage ML breechplug in tungsten to shoot 209s. Cost is way under what you see for other conversions and custom smokeless MLs.
I had a SS 700 ML. $150 for Boyds Laminated Thumbhole for Rem SA. About $1200-1300 all total for Luke to do the barreling, bedding, load test it, short starter, long folding 3 piece ramrod and return. He sent the cutoff barrel stub (3 inches) to Swinglock and for another $200 they can make a swage die for bullets to perfectly match your bore.
Anyway, start at Dougs Message Board and do the research on which conversion you want.
Warning, when you are told to make sure the first thing you do is put a "witness mark" on your ramrod to ensure proper seating do it. Air space in a smokeless will blow it up asap.
