The new AccurateShooter.com website is running. It's not officially "live" yet as I need to upload more files and test some links, but you guys can poke around.

This was a huge, expensive effort. A couple programmers have been working on this for the past three months, and I've been pulling double shifts, 7 days a week, since August. I estimate the time involved at easily 700 man-hours, counting everyone involved.

The new site will have all the stuff from the old site (once it all gets loaded), plus I've cherry-picked hundreds of popular items from the Bulletin. There's a new 22-250 Cartridge Guide and more on the way.

There's a fast, smart search on every page, and the videos are easier to watch.

The above link is the new home page. It may be a little slow to load the first time, but once your browswer caches the files it should load more quickly. Check out the Navigation and the search features. And try selecting by category from the left navigation. For example, here is the gear review page:

A couple features are locked right now, as we finalize stuff for the official "Launch". But this should give you a glimpse of things to come.

Testing individual articles, they seem to load pretty fast. See, for example:

Thanks for the offer. We plan to have a fund-raiser in a few weeks. I went seriously out of pocket to fund this upgrade ... but it should give the site a good technology base for years to come. The challenge is making so much content accessible. We worked very hard on organizing the info.

My first impression was how crisp and clear everything looked. Like watching Avatar in 3D it just jumps out at you. Everything I clicked on loaded extremely fast. In fact faster than the old site ever did.
Before, this was the best shooting website on the net......now it's gone to a whole new level.

AccurateShooter.com | 6mmbr.com has three main components

1. Forum (that's where you are now). NO CHANGE (except top links)

2. Daily Bulletin (a Blog with short news items & reviews). NO CHANGE (except top links)

3. Editorial site (an eZine with hundreds of articles, Cartridge Guides, Diagrams, Videos).

#3 is what we have worked hard to upgrade. You can still access the legacy (old) site at www.6mmbr.com. We will leave that going for a while because we still haven't transfered all the stories over.

But basically, the new AccurateShooter.com site is bigger (on screen), faster (dedicated server), and with more features for the user (print mode for stories, easier search, plus/minus text sizes), and more content.

I'm with Danny (dreever) The crisp and clear picture was the first thing I noticed. Being use to the old site I was lost just for a short time looking around for different things. Took maybe 10 min to figure out and feel my way around getting use to things, but like I said after about ten min. I really liked how things are laid out. I also seen that the 6.5x47 lapua round is on the new site. That should make many guys happy!! I'm interest in the cartidge myself, just don't have the time and funds to do it. Other projects and equipment needed have put the 6.5x47 way down on the priority list. Anyway looking forward to the new site getting up any running! The hard work shows!! Thanks for all the hours you put into things Paul!!

I hope that all regular readers make a donation at least equivalent to a magazine subscription and if you can go for a little more, it would really help.
