I've been shooting my custom 25/06 and using the 70 grain Blizkings . I've used them on skunk, coyotes, and deer with great results, one shot kills.
The rifle is a custom job a friend screwed together for me with a Bartlein 27-3/4" barrel. It really shoots well. The load is 52.4 grains of Varget, (Sierras hunting load rec). I haven't fiddled with it because it shoots one hole groups with it.
I recently bought a chronograph to replace the one that died a violent death. I decided to run the 25/06 over it. At 10' the 70 grain blizkings averaged 3974fps. I thought that can't be right but I also tried some 117 loads and they were right in the ballpark of previous checked loads.
The manual shows 3800fps with a 24" barrel, would 3-3/4" make that much difference?? The loads show no undue pressure signs.
