7 Saum load question.

I just got finished chambering a 7 Saum with a Brux 1-8 tw, 28” long heavy varmint barrel. I started using 4831sc, 180 Berger VLD’s hunting bullets. Tried 58 gr and velocity average was 2755.

Have any of y’all tried this same combo with more powder? It shoots good it’s just slow. My 284 is faster.
It’s got 10 rounds through it so far. Top right is shots 5,6,7, top left are shots 8,9,10.

Kinda both. I’d like to see 2950 ish. That’ll help with bucking the wind if I decide to shoot a comp.

I’d also like to shoot a 50 lb pig between the eyes.

For a 28" barrel , 2930fps should be a safe velocity goal if your barrel node is around there. Around 59.5 to 60.0gn of H4831sc is likely where you would end up but as usual start a little lower. Be aware that your barrel is only very low round count and will likely speed up between 100 and 150 rounds.
