Already started reloading for 300WM and wanting a new caliber to play with. I can touch the lands with my 300WM just fine and still have space left in my magazine.
Not too much data out there on the 7 RUM. It seems like some sites say that you're not supposed to chase the lands on it. The bullet was designed to have a lot of freebore, like 0.40" so it won't over pressure. Also that free bore will allow the bullet to go faster.
True/False? Anywhere to get hard data on this? Or are these people running factory mags and barrels which usually never are able to touch lands anyways?
I don't shoot much so not concerned with barrel life. Just wanting to run the Berger 195s hard.
Thanks in advance!
